Robert Michael Towne is an American filmmaker and journalist based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He began making films in high school, launching Towne Films in 2003. He has since produced a wide range of independent feature films and genre projects showcased at regional film festivals and pop culture conventions throughout the Southwestern United States.

Towne graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2011 with a degree in Electronic Media and a minor in Film. He began his professional career in broadcast journalism at KVIA-TV in El Paso before moving to Albuquerque in 2017 to join KOB-TV. In 2025, he received an Emmy Award for continuing coverage of the Alec Baldwin trial.

His filmmaking work spans science fiction, fantasy, westerns, and drama, including TORR, Oro del Diablo, Song of the Starslayer, and The Curse and the Covenant, which won Best New Mexico Feature at the Mindfield Film Festival in 2020. His latest project, Arcade 2135, is currently in post-production and was featured at a panel at Albuquerque Comic Con in 2026.
